In this May monthly plan with me in my Bullet Journal, see how I set up my different collections and my bumble bee theme!

May Bullet Journal – Spread Ideas For Your Own Journal

Last Updated on May 4, 2022 by Keri

Hey there! I can hardly believe it, but May is just around the corner, and I am so excited to share my monthly layouts with you here! I hope that you find some ideas and things you might want to try inside your own Bullet Journal!

May is one of my favourite times of the year. Where I live, the snow is finally melting away. The flowers are starting to bloom and things are starting to look a little more green!

When I sat down to create these monthly layouts, I knew I wanted to incorporate some Spring into these layouts, and I am really happy with the results! Let’s jump right in!

My May 2021 Bullet Journal Theme

With some of my favourite stencils from OopsADaisyUK, I decided to make my theme for my May Bullet Journal layouts bumble bees! I actually got these particular stencils in the “Mini One” subscription box.

I don’t love to doodle free hand in my Bullet Journal, but occasionally, I like to add some cute decoration to my layouts. These stencils make it so incredibly easy to dress up my layouts!

For the colours, I used a lot of yellow, and then I added in a sprinkle of a pretty green and blue! I love how bright it all turned out!

My May Cover Page

I am so glad I decided to try a monthly cover page again!

This is something I was doing in my Bullet Journal for a while, but I always found it difficult to find a purpose for the page beside.

Well, for April, I decided to give a month-end layout another try, and I think that layout goes hand in hand with the cover layout for May.

It’s like the chapter on one month is closing, and the next month is a brand new chapter.

Yup, that was corny. But you know what I mean!

I used this layout to add a mini calendar and a cute quote that would go with my overall monthly theme:

“anyone who things they are too small to make a difference has never met the honey bee”

My May cover layout in my Bullet Journal really shows my monthly theme with the bumble bees, the hives and the flowers.

My May Monthly Layout

This month, I decided to focus on a traditional calendar style layout. I did a dashboard style layout in April which you can see here, but I find that I am not using this monthly layout as much as I would like. I tend to use my monthly collections a lot more.

Nonetheless, I do like having a calendar space where I can plan out appointments, important dates, etc.

I also love to use the calendar to write down what blog posts I want to publish throughout the month!

There is also a small space for goals on this layout. Here, I am going to write out what my goals for the month are so that I have an easy place to read them every day. The action plans for each goal will be done on my goal collection layout, seen below.

My May Monthly Bullet Journal layout is really simple with a large calendar. I am going to use this layout to plan out my appointments and events!

My May Journal Layout

Journaling is something that I absolutely love to make space for inside my Bullet Journal! And if you aren’t journaling inside your Bullet Journal already, I highly recommend you give it a try!

I have been building up my journaling habit for nearly a year now, and the transformation I have seen from it has been amazing. I can feel sad or angry when I need to. Whenever I accomplish something important, I write that down to! It really is a safe place to capture all your thoughts, ideas and inspiration!

On my layout, I leave two lines for each day. While this isn’t a lot of space to go into great detail, it is a great step towards getting started with journaling.

Every month I also include some prompt questions that I can answer. This helps me to reflect back on my day and look forward to tomorrow.

Journaling in my Bullet Journal is something I really love to do! So every month, you will see this layout. For May, I decided to add some of the smaller doodles where I could.

My May Affirmations Layout

This layout is kind of new to me. I added it to my April layouts for the first time, and I loved it!

When I filled in the layout, I chose affirmations for the morning, the night, and for entrepreneurs. I would read these affirmations every day, and it really helped to keep a positive mindset all month.

For the month of May, I have decided to do it again to see if it continues to work for me!

I am going to do some digging to find some affirmations for goal setting as well!

I am going to do some digging to find some affirmations for goal setting as well!

Affirmations are something new I am trying inside my Bullet Journal, and I wanted to try it again in May! I like leaving the space open so I can write down everything I want to include!

My May Meal Log

One of my goals for 2021 is to generally eat healthier. I have been working hard to find some alternate recipes to my favourite comfort foods, and just trying to be more mindful overall of what kinds of food I am eating.

This meal log layout is really helping me stay accountable to that goal.

Knowing that I have to write down what I eat everyday is usually enough to make me think again when I want to grab a bag of chips or some candy.

While I am not perfect, (my snacks column is always more full then I would like it to be), it is really helping me stay mindful of my goal!

If you have a goal that requires accountability, I highly recommend you add a tracker into your layouts! Get creative and brainstorm some different things you can track to help you towards your goals!

On my May meal log layout, I wanted to include an inspirational quote alongside my bumble bee doodles! My meal log layout have been some of my favourite Bullet Journal layouts!

My May Habit Stack Layout

Are you new to habit tracking? Are you struggling with your habits?

If you are saying yes to either of these questions, I highly recommend the book “Habit Stacking” by S.J Scott.

This book inspired me to change my approach to habits and habit tracking, and that is how I came up with this habit stack layout inside my Bullet Journal.

Along the top of the layout, I include the days of the month.

Down the side of the layout, I write out each of the habits that are contained within each stack.

Every day, I carry my Bullet Journal around with me and I work through my habit stacks.

This method has really helped me get intentional about how I am spending my time, and I have seen some great progress!

If you want to try a unique way of habit tracking, I highly recommend you try habit stacking! This layout is how I combine my habits and routines into one place.

My May Goals Layout

And last but definitely not least is my goals layout for May!

When I created this layout, I decided I wanted to leave it as a blank dashboard so that I could plan out my goals in a way that feels good for me in the moment.

How I action plan my goals changes quite often. I have a step-by-step process I follow, but how that actually looks inside my Bullet Journal changes from month to month.

When it comes to your goals, never be afraid to try new things! Your goals are so incredibly important to you planning and achieving the life of your dreams, and sometimes you need to try new things to get there!

For my May goals layout in my Bullet Journal, I wanted to leave the space fairly open so that I could plan my goals anyway I think will be best at the time!

May Printable Layouts

For the first time ever, I have created printable versions of these monthly layouts that you can download for free!

Final Thoughts

I hope this blog post has inspired you to try some new layouts! This is something I am always doing myself, and that is what I love so much about the Bullet Journal!

With traditional store-bought planners, I always felt so limited. The layout was set up, and that is just how I had to plan no matter what.

The Bullet Journal method gives us complete creative freedom to try new layouts and planning ideas, and for that, I am so incredibly grateful!

I would love to see your May layouts too! Be sure to share a photo of your favourite layout in the comment section below!

See you soon!
