Are you trying to improve your life or embody the person you want to be right now? Habits are one of the best ways you can do that, and in this post, I am sharing a complete list of habits that you can implement into your life.
Habits are all around us in our daily lives. The time you wake up, what you eat for breakfast, what you do when you get home from work… these are all habits.
By focusing on the healthy and positive habits, we can start to live a life that is aligned with our dreams and sets us up for success and results.
How do habits impact my life?
All habits, positive and negative, have similar traits like adding structure to our lives, creating consistency, etc.
For example, if you have a bad habit of watching t.v after dinner instead of exercising, and you keep doing this day after day, the structure of your day consistently becomes eat dinner, watch t.v, and you will never end up exercising.
So while all habits can add that structure and consistency, it is much better to focus on positive habits.
How can positive and healthy habits help me improve my life?
Like negative habits, positive and healthy habits also add structure and consistency in our lives. The upside is that the structure and consistency is for something positive that will actually help you improve your life, your mindset, your health and more.
Healthy habits can also improve your life because they can help you:
- achieve your goals
- boosts motivation
- improves your mindset

- Read one chapter of a finance book or article

Mindset
Your mindset alone has the power to boost your motivation and energy, or to completely drain you. So, including positive mindset habits will help you to boost your energy, motivation, inspiration, productivity, and more.
- Speak words of affirmation
- Meditate
- Pray
- Practice gratitude
- Journal
- Practice deep breathing

Productivity
If you struggle with a lack of motivation and procrastination, then implementing some of these productivity habits might benefit you greatly.
Pick the ones that you think will be the most helpful for you to start, and then you can add to them as you go.
- Plan your day
- Write a to-do list

Family
It is important that we factor family into our daily habits as well. The first habit is a personal favourite of mine.
- Eat dinner at the table
- Call, email or text a loved one a caring message
- Spend quality time
Home
Your home is your space, and so why not make it a space full of positive energy? Positive habits can help you keep your home tidy, decluttered, and these things can actually boost your motivation and energy.
- Make your bed
- Clean one shelf in your fridge
- Tidy the “dumping ground” spot
- Put 3 items back in their proper home

Self-Care

- Do a face mask
- Apply a hair mask
- Clean makeup brushes
- Wash face
- Skin-care routine
Enjoyment
And last but definitely not least, it is important that you have some enjoyment based habits as well.
Now, these should not consume your whole day, but they are great for rewards when you have accomplished what you set out to accomplish, or to wind down at the end of the day.
I personally love watching one t.v episode of a show I am watching while I eat my lunch. It gives my brain a break from work so that I can actually shut off for that 30 minutes, relax and unwind. Then I am able to go back to work feeling refreshed and ready to go.
- Read one chapter of a book
- Do some sketching or doodling
- Paint
- Crochet
- Build a puzzle
- Do a crossword
- Enjoy a hobby
- Watch a movie or one episode of a show
- Read a book
How do I implement the habits I have chosen from this list?
So, now that you have a list of habits you want to implement into your life, you need to find a way to actually integrate them successfully.
My personal favourite method is the habit stacking method, and I have an entire blog post sharing how you can do this step-by-step.
The habit stacking method is kind of like creating a routine for your habits so that you can move seamlessly from one habit to the next.

How many habits should I get started with?
In this case, less is always more!
Building these positive healthy habits to the point where you are doing them consistently without having to give them too much thought takes time. So, it is my recommendation that you start with just 3-5 from this list of habits.
Once you are doing those 3-5 habits consistently, then you can start to add in more.
What habits are you going to get started with? Let me know in the comments below!
