How To Use Your Bullet Journal To Set Goals
There are so many ways that you can use your Bullet Journal to set goals, and some of it is going to depend on personal preference. However, there are some tips I want to share with you to help you get started!
Include A Goal Overview In Your Bullet Journal
If you are anything like me, it can be really tempting to jump right into the planning part of goal setting. But, there is something to be said for a well thought out goal overview.
An overview can help you get specific about your goal without getting into the ‘how’. Getting specific about your goal is all about determining exactly what you want to accomplish and how long you expect it to take. There is a big difference between, “I want to lose weight”, and “I will lose 20 pounds by June 30th, 2021 through daily exercise, yoga, and healthy eating”.
An overview will also help you to ensure you are not setting too many goals. When the new year comes, we are always so eager to make this the year that we turn our entire life around. Unfortunately, all the lofty new years resolutions we set often don’t actually get us anywhere. An overview can help you to set goals for the year that are attainable.
Create Collections For Your Goals
For every goal, there is a collection that you can add to your Bullet Journal that will help you plan and get organized! The first step is determine what kinds of collections will help you!
There are 5 main collection types I personally like to use for my goals.
1. Trackers
2. Charts
3. Lists
4. Boards
5. Boxed Sections (A combination of the other four types on one collection)
You can use these 5 main types to create any kind of collection that you think will help you with your goal!
Example: Lets say your goal is to lose 10 pounds through healthy eating, you might try adding a;
Healthy eating daily tracker
Weight loss chart
Master grocery shopping list
Healthy meal idea brain dump board
Start brainstorming some collections that will help you towards your goals!
Include A Daily Routine In Your Bullet Journal
One of the biggest challenges you will face when it comes to your goals is the lack of time. You need to make time for yourself where you can work on your goal, and you need to honour the time you have set aside!
This is also something you can plan right inside your Bullet Journal!

Include A Habit Tracker In Your Bullet Journal
Motivation is what gets you started. Habit it what keeps you going.

Whether your goal requires you to adopt new and healthy habits or kick those bad habits to the curb, a habits tracker can help you achieve your goals!
There is a good chance that your goal may require you to do something daily. That could be reading 10 pages of your book per day. That could be washing your face every morning. Whatever the goal is, a habit tracker is a fantastic reminder to do these things daily!
